CHANGELING'S RETURN WEST MIDLANDS AMBULANCE

AMBULANCE INTERIOR

Morgen returns to this world in an ambulance, and is told he skidded off the road in the rain and crashed into a tree. The ambulance emergency sirens fade away, replaced by Morgen's voice-over, "Bemused: Second Canto," revealing his thoughts.

AMBULANCE ON THE ROAD

The rest of our story takes place back in the real world, where these West Midlands ambulances may look common to the local population, but don't look much like the ambulances that race through streets here in America. Beginning with "Bemused: Third Canto," we quickly learn Morgen will not dismiss his otherworldly adventure as an unconscious dream. On the contrary, all the new songs and music he remembers convince him it was all real, which causes some consternation and dismay on the part of his manager, who is genuinely concerned for Morgen's well-being. When "Peeping Tom" is rejected by the record company, Morgen creates "Mystical Encounter," which is acceptable to them. We also hear Morgen's "Fool in Concert/Morningstone Fate" medley during his Halloween night live concert telecast from the same ruined abbey, followed by Morgen's extravaganza featuring an all-female choir, full orchestra, rock band, and the Trashbabies in "Sweet Mystery," which may be described as an invocation of his Muse. As for the rest, you'll have to wait for the book.
