MORNINGSTONE LEGACY -- THE MUSIC CAME FIRST

According to Fiona, the thinly disguised "Mother Nature" in Changeling's Return, songs composed and arranged with seamless marriages of lyric, melody, tonality and rhythm, are spells, and their composers and lyricists are literally "enchanters," setting words (or scenes), to music that may keep "going 'round and 'round in your head," even when there is no external source of music to be heard. This happy combination of visuals, lyrics and music is also the stuff of sympathetic magic, an inherent part of the mysteries revealed in Changeling's Return.

Listen to "IN THIS PLACE," choir, procession and dance omitted from MYSTICAL ENCOUNTER
"IN This Place" is introduced by a masked choir, followed by a procession as Fiona leads Laura's pony cart to the megalithic shrine where, representing the fertility goddess, she dismounts as the music changes from the processional to her ever-accelerating, ever-more erotic dance, directed at the buckskin-draped, solitary central upright stone, crowned with an antlered headdress, representing the fertilty god, and only ending when she finally collapses, naked, surrendering herself to the monolith. This piece will certainly be in the movie, but being rather long, and almost entirely instrumental is not included on the Mystical Encounter songs from Changeling's Return CD. Click to hear "PEEPING TOM," the controversial song omitted from MYSTICAL ENCOUNTER
WARNING! "Peeping Tom" underscores a chase sequence inspired by Laura's erotic, torch-lit, dance in Changeling's Return. It remains in the screenplay and will likely remain in the movie, but within the story there is concern that the song, out of context, might seem to celebrate violent, misogynistic behavior, and therefore it is cut from Mystical Encounter in the story (and also from the album currently in release). Labeled EXPLICIT, not for its language, but for its brutish content, it is posted here, especially for readers, filmmakers, and collectors familiar with the section of Changeling's Return, "His Secrets All Revealed."
